Trobada del Vallès a Sant Cugat
Diumenge 3 de Juny la ciutat de Sant Cugat del Vallès ha acollit la XIX Trobada del Vallès en motiu dels 25 anys de la seva colla. A les 8.30 començavem a carregar en Quirze i la Julita al remolc i ja marxavem cap a Sant Cugat. Un cop arribats, aparcarem davant del parc on es feia l’esmorzar i també per refugiar-nos de la pluja. El president de la colla santcugatenca ens va anunciar que després de mitja hora, ja no plouria, i per sort així va ser. Descarreguem en Quirze i la Julita i ens dirigim al parc on es feia la plantada juntament amb els altres gegants de les 32 colles participants.
De mica en mica, els gegants sortien del parc fins a formar la cercavila que passà pels carrers de Sant Cugat fins arribar a la Plaça Octavià, davant del magnífic monestir de Sant Cugat. Arribà el moment del traspàs de la banda de geganta “Pubilla del Vallès”. L’alcalde de la Llagosta, l’Alcaldessa de Sant Cugat i els caps de colla varen ser els encarregats d’imposar la banda a la Marieta, la geganta de Sant Cugat, que des d’aquest moment representarà a totes les colles del Vallès. Un cop fet el traspàs de banda, els gegants de la Llagosta i els de Sant Cugat ballaren el Ball a Vallès, que només 4 gegants, els de l’antiga i la nova Pubilla del Vallès, la poden ballar. Per acabar la jornada, les autoritats, els caps de colla i fins i tot el president de l’Agrupació de Colles de Geganters de Catalunya, David Roy, realitzaren els parlaments i l’entrega de records a les colles: les reproduccions en miniatura dels gegants de Sant Cugat. Com és costum, es va fer el ball final. Cal dir que amb els músics que hi havia, semblava que la plaça tremolés.
Durant un any, la Marieta, en Joan i la seva colla seran els representants de totes les colles del Vallès. Des d’aquí enviem els nostres millors desitjos a la Colla de Sant Cugat del Vallès per aquest 25 anys. Per molts anys!
